Live & Virtual Events Coordinator Co-op, OverActive Media, Toronto (Jan '22 - June '22)

During my co-op at OverActive Media, I supported the coordination of large-scale gaming events, contributing to successful engagements and enhancing fan experiences.

 

Key Contributions:

  • Communication & Talent Management:

Led workforce coordination for the Toronto Ultra's Call of Duty Major III, collaborating closely with the OAM team on logistics to ensure a top-tier experience for attendees. Managed volunteers for fan activations, boosting event engagement and participation.

  • Proficient in MS Suite / MS Office:

Utilized Teams, Excel, Word, PPT, and SharePoint to manage documentation, streamline internal meetings, and ensure smooth communication across departments.

  • Event, Logistics & Vendor Management:

Established strong vendor and partner relationships, acted as a key liaison, and coordinated with departments for seamless event execution. Supported finance with cost reconciliation, assisted marketing with booth setups and inventory, and provided HR and partnerships with travel and accommodation arrangements.

  • Problem Solving & Customer Service:

Developed a "Know Before You Go" (KBUG) guide for Call of Duty Major III, addressing 50% of event inquiries across multiple platforms. Created a Lost and Found database, resolved ticketing issues, and handled event-related inquiries to enhance customer satisfaction.

  • Event Administration:

Provided daily support to maintain smooth event operations, updating schedules and ensuring each event detail was covered.

This role allowed me to develop strong logistics, multitasking, and customer service skills, all essential to successful live and virtual event execution.
